Terms & Conditions Updated Jan 18, 2012
Dogs/Puppies:
VISITORS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME with some safety restrictions (for the dogs)!
Deposits:
Our deposits are $250 to hold a puppy. We do not refund deposits because a puppy is not marked the way you would like or dependant on eye color. There are no guarantees on superficial things -priority should be placed on personality and temperment and how it fits into your family and lifestyle. We DO refund if we cannot get you the perfect puppy for your lifestyle in the first litter or two after receiving the deposit, or we can move the deposit to the next litter, your choice. We also refund a deposit if we have refused or decided not to sell to you for any reason. If something happens to your puppy before pick-up, the deposit will be refunded or you can choose a replacement puppy of equal quality out of the same litter or next available litter. Deposits and purchases can be made on PayPal with NO extra fees. We prefer to sell our puppies as pets, but on some occassions we sell a puppy as a breeding dog in a co-own or partnership.
Shipping: We ship on the airlines but prefer you come pick it up or may be able to meet partway. We do not charge extra for the health paper on shipping through the airlines but you will pay for the crate and shipping fee. Puppies can be shipped after 8 weeks old. Fees must be paid in full and contracts signed before the puppy is shipped.
Guarantee: We do not guarantee size as mini aussies are bred down from standards. We will tell you as close as we can to the finish size however. All adults are tested so as to avoid any problems, but they can happen so there is a 2 year guarantee for any hip or eye problems. See contract for more details on this.
Matching a puppy to you: We would like you to fill out our questionnaire so we can best match a puppy to you/your family and lifestyle. Our litters are structure evaluated at 8 weeks old to see if they are show/breed quality (a requirement for one wanting a breeding/show dog) but we prefer to sell our pups to pet lovers. Puppies will also be personality/temperament tested at 8 weeks and matched accordingly.
All pet/companion puppies are sold with limited registration (MASCA or ASDR) and are to be spayed or neutered. All co-own/partner puppies are in our name with you as the co-owner. We try to give you as much information as possible on each individual puppy and how they would work for your family/circumstances as well as information on the breed. See our information page for more information on co-owning a puppy with us!
Health: Our pups are de-wormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks old. They get vaccinations recommended by our local vets. Parents have CERF exams on their eyes yearly, OFA prelims and/or permanent (hips), PRA-PRCD, HC and MDR1 tests done and are reported on the site.
Where/how are they raised (pictured left) at 74 Ranch: This is an old picture but Our dogs are raised in a "small world" where they can run and play but be protected from outside elements (cars, coyotes, other dogs, etc.) They have a dog building that is heated and air conditioned they can go in and out of through a doggy door. The "small world" borders the house (and our patio) which they come in and out of continually throughout the day. We have horses, cattle and cats so they are socialized with them when they get to go into the "big world" under watchful supervision. Our dogs all eat Nature's Variety Instinct Raw and Kibble dog food. They go in a crate at night for a peaceful night's sleep. Our pups are pretty much crate and potty pad/potty trained before they leave our home. They learn how to go through the doggy door and are usually going potty outside before they leave. They are exposed to several footings: rock, dirt, grass, concrete, tile, carpet, and wood flooring. We expose them to new toys and 'obstacles' often from 4-8 weeks old. We can keep your puppy a little longer if you have plans for vacation or something comes up as long as it is fully paid for. WE handle the puppies daily, take pictures of them weekly and update the site regularly so you know what is available. We weigh them every day the first 10 days, then at 14 days then weekly to be sure they are growing at the right pace. They run with the older dogs as soon as they are old enough (usually 4 to 6 weeks).
How they are raised at Peakview Ranch: Troy has a dog building with seperate kennels with doggy doors in each kennel that go out to a "small world" of their own. Their building is heated/air conditioned. As soon as he gets home at night and before he leaves in the morning they are out playing with him amongst the cattle and horses on the ranch. They also get handled daily. Troy feeds Natural Balance Ultra formula dog food.
74 Ranch Puppy Packet: Your puppy comes with a bag of food, rawhide bones, IAMS puppy bones (that's their treat when they first get in their crate), a toy, registration application, health record, picture pedigree and information that can help you with your new family member. Pet and co-own puppies get ASDR or MASCA application, breeders can get any of the registries the parents are registered through.
