They leave up-to-date on their shots and wormings, going through a doggy door and most of them are crate trained .  Can be shipped on the airlines.
Puppies are structure and personality/drive evaluated at 8 weeks and then placed accordingly.

74 Ranch is a MASCA Blue Ribbon Breeder!!!
A Blue Ribbon Breeder is a breeder that has submitted proof of eye and hip clearance for any litter to be registered with MASCA
and has 30 or less puppies per year.

Why adopt your new family member from 74 Ranch?
We do all the testing on the parents to try to avoid any genetic defects (CERF, OFA (with elbows and knees) PRA, MDR1, HC)
We keep all (known) epilepsy lines out of our pedigrees.

We sell to very few breeders and have only a few litters each year. We match our puppies according to personality, not looks/color/sex. We do structure evaluations at 8 weeks as well as the personality evaluation (Suzanne Clothier method) and keep detailed records on all pups. We have EVERY dog we own listed on this website, even co-owns - no hidden dogs on the "back 40" here at 74 Ranch or at Peakview Aussies! We start clicker training, crate training, and potty training at 5-6 weeks old, as well as play with puppies individually at a young age, seperating them from the rest of the litter, taking them for car rides, and exposing them to new things almost daily.

The last month has gone by so fast!  We're doing great and we're so happy with him.  We changed his name afterall.  Loper was too similar sounding to our cat Tucker, so we renamed him Rusty. We had our first puppy class on Friday.  Rusty did great and he's responding very well to the training at home. We have 7 more weeks of puppy class.   He's getting along great with cat.  They love to play together any chance they get.  He does really good at night in his crate.  As soon as we say bedtime, he runs into his bed. Jane, CO

Winnie/Beulah is doing wonderfully.  The weather finally cooperated enough for us to take our first "long" walk around the neighborhood yesterday and she was absolutely enthralled by the sights, smells, and sounds.  She's gotten the hang of walking on a leash, although we'll need to work on getting her to heel as she loves to lead the pack when we're all outside together.
She loves being outdoors and often gives me a hard time when it's time to come inside for a while.  Once indoors, she forgets all about outside and spends her time wrestling with the kitty or with Butternut.  She and Joy are getting along better, but Joy is still pretty cautious around her.  I expect that will improve with time and as Winnie's "puppy brains" subside.
She is already standing taller than Butternut and Joy.  It's amazing how quickly she's growing.  And the best news of all is that she's finally sleeping through the night!  She is amazingly smart and already knows "sit", "down", "paw", "other paw", "come", "leave it" (this one is especially handy when she's using the kitty as a chew toy!).  She's also learned to ring the bell hanging from the door knob when she wants to go outside.  This level of intelligence compares only to my previous blue heeler.  I absolutely love how bright she is. I've been trying to socialize her by taking her to the school where I work and to Murdoch's and Petco where she likes stealing the chewies from the lower bins!  She's not as comfortable in those situations, but I suspect that will improve some over time.  Margarita, WY

Ok, Avenue it the COOLEST pup ever. I am so glad we got him. I cannot believe how freakin' fast he is. And so smart and snuggly. Thanks for going forward with him with me as a co-own!! I ADORE him! Starts puppy class Sunday, wheee!! Jen

Hello Michele! We bought Buzz/ Ringo almost a year ago. He has been doing amazing and he is the cutest thing! He sleeps with me almost every night and is a snuggly pup. He's also super playful! He'll Chase me around the house and okay hide and go seek with me.  I've been looking on your website and saw your adorable new litter of puppies! I have been begging my parents to get me another one, they are just so cute! Anyways, thanks for such an adorable little guy! I would take one of your puppies any day:) Hannah, CO

Just a quick note to let you know Scout is the hit of the neighborhood! She has adjusted really well is and is having lot's of fun. We are up
to hiking a mile a day and she is doing most of the walk on a loose leash. Her favorite game is fetch in the backyard! I love, love, love
her! We're headed to the ranch next weekend, that will be lot's of fun for her! Looking forward to see if she likes chasing the goats. I'll try to get a video to send to you. Andrea, WY

As for Brenner.....what can I say?  he is so smart, and such a wonderful little guy, has a great sense of humor and brings me immeasureable  joy.  Icould go on all night, but just let me tell you....he has this game where he hides under my bed, and just barely sticks his nose out from under the dust ruffle....and slides back and forth....then comes out of hiding and thinks he is soooooo smart!  You can't help but laugh and smile.   He is wonderful. He has really curbed his barking when he gets excited, and obeys "come" and "sit".  He is just phenomenal, and on top of all of that, he is gorgeous....when he looks into my eyes I just melt!  That is it for now....thanks for everything! and thanks for Brenner! Valerie

Buzz/Ringo is doing great & is the best puppy we have ever had!  He's learning sit, down, & leave it. He's doing good with going to the door to go to the bathroom. We put a bell on the handle for hm to ring when he has to go & he uses it very well!  Hannah, CO

Griffin is the best.  He's smart, funny, active (but not too active, he likes to be lazy as well), social, and a typical aussie velcro dog.  His only negative is that he is deathly afraid of thunderstorms, he can feel them coming miles away.  He's a beautiful dog, great coat and markings and weighs 35 pounds.  He loves walks, squeaky toys, hiking, camping, 4 wheel driving, car rides - we take him everywhere.  We can't thank you enough, he's a great dog and we are very happy to have him. The Humphrey Family, WY

Barbie is doing great.  She went in her crate at 10:00 and slept until 6:02.  She is very good.  She is eating and going potty outside.  A few accidents today.  We have so many bunnies and new things to see she is somewhat distracted when she goes outside. She follows me wherever I go and loves to be loved.  Thank you so much for bringing her down and giving her such a great start.  She is going to be a wonderful companion.  I will keep you posted on her progress.  Thanks!  Laury, CO New update email Aug 2010: I love her she is the best dog ever.  She is so smart and well behaved.  We have completed all the puppy classes at Pet Smart and she was always the smartest and best behaved.  I take her everywhere with me.and get many compliments on how pretty she is and so well behaved.  I am thinking of doing agility training with her this winter. I check out your web site often... I love all your new puppies and have to restrain myself from getting another one.  They are so cute! Laury

Woody is doing great! He is very friendly, doing great with the family. Loves to play and then sleep :-)  Took him to the vet today...clean bill health said looks great. Asked for his breeder, hope okay I gave them your info and they are going to file it for people looking. He is doing so good with the potty training had only two little accidents with not getting poor guy out quick enough, me trying find my shoes he was busy playing with :-).  He has traveled excellent too! We named him Crash. He is really enjoying the big snow banks but hasn't realized he's not as big as he thinks he is. He tries to jump to the top and misses. Its very cute  Thank you so much for an amazing little guy.   Doug, MT

Buzz is doing great!  He is going thru dog door and no accidents. Very playful and attached to Hannah. She named him Ringo short for Durango. Thanks again.  Hannah/Steve, CO

Grover is now Hobbes, and he's the best dog ever. He loves people and other dogs, and his new obsession is catching frisbee. John and Liz, FL

Just to let  know that Lizzy is doing great, we had to go to Denver on Monday and Tuesday and she was just as good as could be. Then we stayed with our kids on Monday night she loved our granddaughter,  She is sooooogood. Thank you Jo & Jim, NE

We are having a blast with Wile and he is ruling the roost so to speak. Talk about a wiggle-but, he crab walks a lot and we get a lot of comments about his “noodle stroll!” He is sitting, will go down, shake, and we are working on roll over. His favorite treats are liver treats that I make for him. He will about stand on his head for them.    Lanna

We're the ones that bought "Porky", the red merle male.  We are loving the puppy's personality.  He is very laid back and listens to us very well.  He already comes when we call, sits and lays down.  He's getting use to being around our cows and looks like he'll be aggressive when we start training him to heel cows.  We sure enjoy him.  Thanks again, Laura, WY

Gina is doing great! She is such a joy to have around and we are so happy to have her in our family. We have not had any problems with her getting accustomed to our home from yours. I think that maybe some of that has to do with our other dog Rooster. She is always laying on him and going wherever he goes. Thank you to you and your husband for taking the time to bring Gina to Cheyenne and meeting us. It was very nice meeting you and your husband, and I hope to do business with you in the future.    Jenar, WY

Coco has been the BEST dog so far that we have EVER owned! She's potty trained, gentle, loving, and playfull. Billy can't wait to meet her! She's virtually potty trained, very affectionate, learned to walk on the leash in 1 day,and great with the kids. she's quiet all night now and just such a joy. Thank you so much for her!  Billy and Rachael Miller, CA

Shelby is sweet. She loves everyone, and swims in the pool. She is very brave especially for her age. I love her personality. She sits, lays and fetches a little too. I think she will be the boss of my older mini as she gets a little bigger. Although shelby and my son are not old enough for 4H this year  the dog abedience/agility leaders are going to let him go to the meetings this year so Shelby will be ready next year. I will let you know how she does and send a picture.   Cassey, WY

Josie is doing GREAT!!  She could not be sweeter or more loved.  In fact, just this morning I was telling Tyler what a great job he did in picking out a pup. She is currently sleeping at my feet.  She is growing like a weed and we are all curious how big she will end up.  Not that it matters, we will love whatever size she is.  She really has been just adorable.   Rhonda, CO

I just wanted to update you on Ocsar. He has grown into a very handsome young man and is such a joy to have around. He is quite a ball of fire butis also one of the most affectionate dogs I have ever owned. He is definitely my little shadow and is by my side wherever I go. I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks, Dawn, MT

She is an amazing dog and we get alot of compliments on how gorgeous she is.  She is such a good dog.  The rare times she does do something wrong she comes and tells on herself by pouting her blue eyes at us.   This is her spot in my car.   Scott, CO

Cooper is doing well.  He is georgeous!  An absolute charmer.  He really is a natural with cattle!  Very willing to work!  Great instincts!!!  He has A LOT of bone.  VERY beautiful.  Excellent movement.  Gayla, WY

Michele - I am a satisfied customer; owner of Bailey, who you called Dixie.  My veterinarian had an inquiry about minis and asked me, so I gave your name and website.  You may be getting a call about your current pups.  Bailey is doing well now, though she had a rough patch of luck.  She tried to follow the cat up on to the kitchen counter, fell, and messed up the growth plate in one knee.  We had it rebuilt at the VCA Specialists north of Loveland on College.  They did an excellent job with pins and wire and she is as good as new except for one bare leg that they had to shave.  Picture attached of Bailey at Halloween.  Bob, CO     REPLY: Thanks Bob for the update. We hope for the best in her recovery!

HI Michele!  Wrangler has us all wrapped around his paw!  He’s so cute, and so good. He’s grown, but actually doesn’t look like he’ll end up very big, which is perfectly fine with me, and now my husband agrees cause he’s so cute right now.  Steve had had a full size one that looked just like Wrangler and originally thought he wanted a bigger size mini.  We’ll be thrilled whatever size he ends up. And I love your website…. Bet you can’t own just one. We’ve already been talking about that!     Krisi

Dakota is doing really well.  I'm still having to fight my mother-in-law over her.  She fell in love with her on the trip home.  She is so beautiful.  Thank you ever so much for raising such a great little girl.   She is such a lover.  Always wants to be in your lap.  She greets you when you come home.  If she goes out to check cattle, she runs in and gives you loving.  She loves being at home, and she loves being with her people.   We changed her name to Sundance.  She really is something else.   Thanks again,   Shawn and Tommi, WY

I thought you might be interested to hear from us about our times with Kirby. He looks a lot like his dad, standing at a 15". We have so enjoyed Kirby. He is full of energy (but not too much), and is curious, very smart and is eager to learn. When we went to puppy training classes, the trainer said he could be a champion if we wanted to put in the work. Kirby's favorite things to do include, fetching the frisbee or ball, "nip and run" at the dog park (he likes to see if he can get the other dogs to chase him around), and sleeping.  I hope all is well with you and yours. We really enjoy Kirby Boy.   Regards,  Sean

We absolutely LOVE Pocket(Elliott), whatever imprinting you did, was wonderful.  He is a social well adjusted easy to get along with young man!  Kind of in that teenage stage.. all leg, and his ears have started to come, which I was hoping... He has been fast to catch onto things, real smart.  Lyn, Canada

Michele, I thought you might enjoy the picture of Nick and Pollux (Butch from Blue X Chester). This is a photo from Nick's web site for his sponsors of his pro-bike career. Pollux is quite famous on the mountain bike tour! Diane, CO

Hey Michele, I thought you might like to get an update on Skye, aka, Squirt.  It has been about a year and a half with her and she is doing great.  She is such a wonderful dog and has been a great addition to our house. My kids have the greatest buddy ever!!-Andrea

You haven't had photo's for some time so finally got some new ones of Miss Huntley Blue of course it involved having to finally break down and buy a new camera.  She is still my work partner as have been working on a large range inventory so she has been logging lots of miles up and down the hills, I think she walks twice the miles I do.  Her adventures don't seem to end as she has been to football games, shippings, learning to ride the 4 wheeler and the list goes on.  I had to go to a training and leave her with a frined whom also has a mini for two nights and she had a big time and has been invited back anytime.  She is starting to mind and can now sit, stay, come, however down is roll over and scratch my tummy so we are still working on that.  Mary, MT

I wanted to send you a couple pics of Crash (used to be woody). These were taken this last winter through to this Sept. He is doing wonderful, loves frisbee, and his all time favorite activity swimming! He has turned into such a handsome dog. He is approx 19" at his shoulder and weighs about 35-38lbs, very lean and muscular. Super well behaved, minus the teenage dog "Dad I am my own person, and I don't know why my bed popped and it stuffing is everywhere"
Thank you for such a wonderful little man! Sincerely, Doug, MT
